How Botanary presents your holdings as one unified balance without pooling your funds.
Botanary shows your holdings as a single unified balance - but that's a presentation choice, not a custody one. Every asset still sits in your own account; nothing is pooled into a shared or intermediary balance anywhere.
What's in the number
Your unified balance is a sum: a total fiat value, a stablecoin-only fiat subtotal, a 24-hour change (fiat-weighted across your holdings), and the list of individual token balances it was built from. Each token balance carries its own amount, live fiat value, price, and whether it's currently spendable.
Native assets (like ETH) always show as spendable, with no price feed backing them in this version - Botanary would rather show a token's fiat value as unpriced than fabricate one. The same anti-scam default applies to any token Botanary can't confidently price: it stays valued at zero rather than risk showing a made-up number.
Peg health for stablecoins is checked directly. If a price oracle can't be reached, the balance still loads - that one token is just marked as unknown, never silently shown as healthy.
Where your tokens come from
Your balance is assembled from a few sources at once: a curated list of supported stablecoins read live from the chain, a best-effort discovery pass over other tokens in your account (never trusted to set a price or call something a stablecoin on its own), and any token you've explicitly imported by address. If one of these sources has trouble, only that source is skipped - the rest of your balance still loads normally.
Keeping it current
Your balance refreshes automatically about once a minute while you have the app open (pausing when the tab isn't visible), specifically so incoming transfers or a delegate's spending show up without you having to do anything. You can also hide your balances behind a toggle anywhere they're shown.
Each chain your account uses also tells you which assets can pay for gas on it - always the chain's native token, plus a stablecoin where that's supported - so you're never guessing what you need on hand just to transact.
