Depeg protection

Depeg protection today is monitoring and alerting on stablecoin peg drift - it watches and tells you, it does not act for you.

Depeg protection in this version of Botanary is visibility, not automation. It exists so that a stablecoin drifting off its peg is never something you're silently holding without knowing - but moving out of it is still something you decide and sign yourself.

What gets watched

Every stablecoin your account actually holds gets its own peg status. Each one reports one of four states:

StatusMeaning
oktrading at or near its target peg
watchdrifting enough to be worth your attention
depeggedmeaningfully off its peg
unknownBotanary can't currently get a reliable price for it

A coin you don't hold never appears - this is scoped to your actual holdings, not a general market watchlist.

Honest when it doesn't know

If the price source for a held stablecoin can't be reached, that coin still shows up - reported as unknown, with no price and a stated reason it couldn't be checked - rather than being dropped from the list or quietly shown as fine. A missing signal is never treated as a healthy one.

A stablecoin you hold is never silently omitted, and never defaults to looking healthy just because its price couldn't be checked. unknown is a real, visible status of its own.

What happens if something depegs

Today, that's on you. Depeg protection tells you what's happening to a held stablecoin; it doesn't move funds on your behalf. If you decide to act on a watch or depegged signal, you do it the same way you'd move any other funds - a send or a swap that you build, preview, and sign yourself.

TODO: automated depeg response (an owner-configured rule that moves funds to safety on your behalf) is not available in v1 - verify before documenting as a feature. What exists today is monitoring and alerting only.
