Glossary
Plain-language definitions for the terms used across Botanary's accounts, delegations, rules, money, and markets pages.
AgentGuard
The on-chain policy hook installed on your account's root validator that enforces your own rules - caps, allowlists, and freeze state. See Rules & AgentGuard.
Chain tier (Botanary / Basic / Watch)
The three-level capability badge every chain carries: Botanary tier has the full rules engine available, Basic tier supports sending, swapping, trading, and managing but not delegating, and Watch tier is read-only. See Chains & networks.
Delegation
A scoped, revocable grant of spending power to a delegate - a dApp, an automation, a recurring payment, or a mandate for a hired agent - built from the account's own Smart Sessions module. See Delegations.
Depeg signal
A per-stablecoin peg-health report for a coin you hold: ok, watch, depegged, or unknown when
it can't be checked. See Depeg protection.
Gas method
One of the ways an operation's transaction fee gets paid: sponsored, USDC, USDT, or the chain's own native asset. See Gas.
Guardian
An address you nominate that can help restore access to your account through social recovery. A guardian can never spend from your account - only help rotate its signer if you're locked out. See Recovery.
Kernel account
The ERC-7579 modular smart account standard every Botanary account is built on. See The smart account.
Mandate
The v2 shape of a delegation, built for a hired agent or automation acting under its own executor - bounded by specific venues and per-venue spend caps rather than a flat budget. See Agents.
Market index id
The namespaced identifier used across the Markets surface: launchpad:<chain>:<address> for a
launchpad token, equity:<SYMBOL> for a tokenized equity. See Markets.
Owner lane / guardian lane
The two separate signing paths in Botanary: the owner lane, where you (or an authorized device) sign ordinary account actions, and the guardian lane, used only for a recovery rotation and signed by your guardians instead. See Recovery.
Sentient / Prototype
Launchpad token graduation states: sentient means a token has graduated and now trades on a DEX
pool; prototype means it's still pre-graduation, trading on a bonding curve. See
Launchpad.
Session key
A limited-authority key - a delegation's device on the delegate side - that can only act within the bounds its delegation encodes, never with your account's own full signing authority.
Simulation / preview
The advisory, fail-closed dry run every proposed action goes through before you're asked to sign it. See Simulation.
Smart Sessions
The on-chain module that encodes and enforces a v1 delegation's policy, checked during ERC-4337 validation. See Delegations.
Tokenized equity / RWA
A token that references a real-world asset's price - legally a claim on that value, not the asset itself, carrying no voting or shareholder rights. See Trade.
UserOperation (UserOp)
The ERC-4337 operation format every state-changing action in Botanary is built as - unsigned when the backend hands it to you, signed once you've approved it, and relayed only after that.
Watchlist
A locally saved set of tokens on the Stocks tab, used to filter your view - not a field Botanary's backend tracks on your behalf. See Markets.
